Duties & Responsibilities

The core purpose of the RIGGER role in an opencast mining environment is to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy equipment, structural components, and materials to minimize downtime and maintain continuous, safe mining operations. This position will report to the TMM Engineering Sujpervisor

Inspect, maintain, and test rigging gear like slings, chains, and hooks.

Plan safe lifts for heavy mining equipment parts and structural steel.

Signal crane operators and guide loads into position during overhauls.

Rig and secure loads for transport across the open-pit site.

Repair and maintain draglines, shovels, and heavy haul truck components.

Comply with site safety rules and wear protective gear at all times.
