Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Cape Town is seeking a RIGGER for an opencast mining environment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy equipment, structural components, and materials. This role reports to the TMM Engineering Supervisor and supports continuous, safe mining operations.

The successful candidate will inspect, maintain, and test rigging gear, plan safe lifts, guide loads with crane operators, and secure loads for transport while adhering to strict site

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and test rigging gear like slings, chains, and hooks.
• Plan safe lifts for heavy mining equipment parts and structural steel.
• Signal crane operators and guide loads into position during overhauls.
• Rig and secure loads for transport across the open-pit site.
• Repair and maintain draglines, shovels, and heavy haul truck components.
• Comply with site safety rules and wear protective gear at all times.

The core purpose of the RIGGER role in an opencast mining environment is to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy equipment, structural components, and materials to minimize downtime and maintain continuous, safe mining operations. This position will report to the TMM Engineering Sujpervisor
