Job summary

Kabstrading Co is seeking a RIGGER for an opencast mining site in Durban. You will ensure safe lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy equipment and components to minimize downtime and maintain safe operations.

You will inspect rigging gear, plan lifts, guide crane loads, and secure items for transport while adhering to strict site safety rules.

Qualifications

• Experience in rigging gear inspection and maintenance.
• Ability to plan safe lifts for heavy mining equipment and structural steel.
• Skill in signaling crane operators and guiding loads during overhauls.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and test rigging gear such as slings, chains, and hooks.
• Plan safe lifts for heavy equipment parts and structural steel components.

• Rig and secure loads for transport across the open-pit site.
• Repair and maintain draglines, shovels, and heavy haul truck components.
• Comply with site safety rules and wear protective gear at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities

The core purpose of the RIGGER role in an opencast mining environment is to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy equipment, structural components, and materials to minimize downtime and maintain continuous, safe mining operations. This position will report to the TMM Engineering Sujpervisor

• Inspect, maintain, and test rigging gear like slings, chains, and hooks.
