Job summary

Advius in Middelburg, South Africa, is seeking a detail-oriented Sub-Accountant (Revenue and Budget) to join its finance team. The role focuses on revenue accounting, debtor administration, customer account reconciliations, financial reporting and budget support.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Accounting or related field, at least 3 years’ experience, and strong skills in Sage Accounting, Pastel and Excel. Immediate availability is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 3 years' experience in a Sub-Accountant or similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of Sage Accounting and Pastel.
• Experience in debtor management, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Capture daily cashbook receipts in Sage Accounting.
• Allocate deposits and credit notes to customer accounts.
• Update debtor age analysis in Excel.
• Reconcile debtor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Follow up on outstanding customer accounts and record communications.
• Prepare sales invoices for management review and approval.
• Respond to and resolve customer account queries.
• Maintain electronic and physical filing systems for financial records.
• Prepare financial and revenue reports as required.
• Assist with budgeting and related financial administration.
• Perform general administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
