Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
• A diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or Administration.
• At least five years' experience as an Accounts Clerk or in a similar role.
• Strong experience in creditors, debtors, and account reconciliations.
• Good knowledge of financial administration, record-keeping, and accounting procedures.
• Experience using accounting systems such as Sage Pastel or SAP.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet financial reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain accurate financial records, including debtors, creditors, and the general ledger.
• Capture and reconcile invoices, payments, and financial transactions.
• Ensure all financial documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
• Maintain organised financial records and filing systems for audit purposes.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Reconcile supplier and customer accounts.
• Ensure timely payments to suppliers and collections from customers.
• Resolve account queries, discrepancies, and related issues.
• Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports, schedules, and summaries.
• Process journals, accruals, and financial adjustments.
• Support the Accountant or Finance Manager with financial data and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and assist with audit preparation.
• Maintain confidentiality and the integrity of financial information.
• Capture and update financial data using accounting systems such as Sage Pastel or SAP.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity while identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes.
