Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited in Standerton, Mpumalanga, seeks a Security Controller to oversee on-site security operations, loss prevention, high‑risk stock, and real‑time incident investigations while ensuring compliance with policies and legal standards. CCTV surveillance is monitored off-site, so focus is on on-site response, coordination and operational control.

The role requires Grade 12, PSIRA Grade B/A, 2+ years of retail security experience in a mall environment, CCTV and incident

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric with PSIRA License (Grade B/A) and PSIRA registration.
• Minimum 2 years’ retail security experience in a shopping mall environment.
• Experience with CCTV monitoring, incident reporting, access control and loss prevention.
• Familiarity with POPIA and courtroom readiness.
• Ability to liaise with clients and provide daily operational reporting.
• Advantageous: first aid, health & safety act knowledge, and Hikvision systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Be vigilant and identify suspicious activities per SOPs and report promptly.
• Investigate and report signs of damage, tampering or unlawful entry.
• Liaise with off-site CCTV monitoring for footage requests and evidence retrieval.
• Respond to alerts from the off-site CCTV control room.
• Supervise and assist guests, customers, suppliers, and employees.
• Protect assets from theft or vandalism and ensure post duties are covered.
• Coordinate with management and CCTV centre during investigations.
• Monitor high-risk stock and oversee loss prevention measures.
• Lead on-site security guards and ensure discipline and reporting.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, assist with evacuations and drills.
• Maintain accurate daily activity notes and incident reports.
• Comply with PSIRA regulations and company policies.
