Job summary

Cashbuild Limited in Siyabuswa is seeking a General Assistant (External Applications Only - Moutsiya) to deliver excellent customer service in-store and assist with merchandising, price labelling and housekeeping within their designated area.

The role requires basic numeracy and English communication, a valid SA ID or work permit, and willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. You will support customers, maintain safe stock areas and follow store layouts.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year related experience.
• Grade 12 without related work experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the area.
• Valid South African ID or work permit.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist Customers on correct products and queries.
• Assist with and resolve Customer complaints.
• Bulk stock area to be merchandised safely and according to Store layout plan.
• Ensure your area is fully merchandised according to Store layout and planograms.
• Ensure area is free of obstacles and customers can enter and leave the aisle safely.
• Correct shelf price labelling within area of responsibility.
• Complete checklist as required when on duty with Canteen and Toilet/Showers schedule.
• OHSA safety compliance within area of responsibility.
• Stock merchandised safely for customers and colleagues to move safely.
• Report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
• Report damaged stock within area of responsibility to Store Manager.
