Job summary

Clicks Eldo Square is seeking a Shop Assistant / Cashier to manage point-of-sale transactions, assist customers, and promote Clicks clubcard. You will maintain product knowledge, assist with promotions, and ensure accurate cash handling at the tills.

The role emphasizes delivering friendly service, brand representation, and efficient in-store operations. Prior retail/FMCG experience is desirable; Maths and English at Grade 12 level are preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic maths calculations
• Retail/FMCG background and understanding of merchandising and promotions principles
• Understanding of stock management procedures
• Knowledge of customer service excellence
• Desirable: Maths 50% and English 50% at Grade 12 level

Responsibilities

• To efficiently execute all operational activities at the point of sale in a timely and efficient manner.
• To maintain high levels of accuracy when scanning merchandise and collecting payment, including clubcard rewards.
• To ensure the safe handling of cash at all times.
• To promote the Clicks clubcard and enroll new members to hit participation targets.
• To make customers aware of promotions to boost sales and ensure customers feel good and pay less.
• To deliver superior customer service as a brand ambassador and provide friendly, professional service.
• To maintain merchandising and housekeeping duties according to store standards.
