takealot.com in Cape Town is offering a highly sought Retail Buying internship for an ambitious candidate. This 18-month contract provides practical experience across buying, order processing and supplier coordination in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

The successful intern will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and a proactive, hands-on approach. Excel and Google Suite proficiency is preferred, with a willingness to learn AI-related technologies.

Qualifications

• Qualification required: N6/ NCV in Business Management or Commerce.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsabilités

• Support the division in all administrative functions linked to buying and order processing.
• Assist the Buyer with buying processes and checks.
• Check customer reviews, links and newsletters.
• Manage customer queries and escalate as necessary.
• Oversee stock levels, process customer orders, and address catalogue-related queries.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding stock availability and orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the division in all administrative functions linked to buying / order processing
• Supporting the Buyer with all buying processes and checks.
• Checking customer reviews, links and newsletters.
• Managing customer queries and escalating as necessary.
• Oversee day-to-day tasks such as managing stock levels, processing customer orders, handling stock classification, and addressing catalogue-related queries.
• Possesses verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to pick up the phone and engage directly with stakeholders.
• Be quick to react, proactive in identifying and resolving issues, and demonstrate a hands-on approach to ensuring smooth operations and effective problem-solving.
• Co-ordinating and liaising with suppliers regarding stock availability and orders.

This is an 18-month contract
