Job summary

Takealot.com, South Africa's leading online retailer, is offering a Marketplace Sales Intern to join our Cross-Border eCommerce team for an 18-month contract. You will support BDAs, prepare dashboards, and help drive marketplace performance with data-driven insights.

You'll gain exposure to seller onboarding, onboarding documentation, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Experience, while developing professional skills in a fast-paced e-commerce

Qualifications

• N6 / NCV in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Time management and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Data interpretation and presentation.
• Basic understanding of e-commerce or online marketplace platforms (advantageous).
• Familiarity with Google Sheets and Looker or similar BI tools (advantageous).
• Collaborative, creative energy, hands-on attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support Business Development Admins (BDAs) with day-to-day administrative tasks, seller correspondence, and account management activities.
• Prepare clear reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate sales performance, seller metrics, and marketplace insights to stakeholders.
• Collect, analyse, and interpret sales, seller, and marketplace data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Assist in maintaining seller records, onboarding documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor seller performance against KPIs and assist in identifying improvement opportunities and corrective actions.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Catalogue, and Customer Experience.
• Support the coordination and administration of promotional activities, deal submissions, and catalogue updates.
• Participate in problem-solving initiatives by identifying root causes, proposing practical solutions, and supporting implementation.
• Assist with seller onboarding support, listing quality checks, and ensuring data integrity across marketplace systems.

This is an 18-month contract
