We are seeking a seasoned, commercial, and high-energy RESTAURANT GM to take full operational ownership of a landmark premium casual dining launch on iconic Mouille Point seafront.

Restaurant GM – Role Overview

An established and fast-expanding hospitality group is introducing its next flagship concept to the Atlantic Seaboard—an elevated yet approachable dining experience that blends coastal sophistication with vibrant social energy. As the Restaurant GM, you will lead the pre-opening phase, drive recruitment, and establish operational excellence that positions this venue among Cape Town’s most anticipated openings.

You will oversee every facet of the operation—from team development and guest experience to financial performance and brand integration. This role demands a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments, balancing creativity with commercial acumen.

Restaurant GM – Key Responsibilities

• Pre-Opening & Setup: Spearhead operational readiness for the October grand opening. Collaborate with group executives, designers, and culinary leadership to ensure seamless execution. Lead recruitment, onboarding, and intensive training for all front-of-house staff, aligning service delivery with brand standards. Implement group SOPs, POS configurations, stock systems, and supplier agreements to ensure efficiency from day one.
• Financial Management: Take full ownership of the venue’s P&L, including prime cost management across food, beverage, and labor. Drive revenue targets, monitor floor yields, and maintain daily sales tracking to ensure profitability. Analyze performance metrics and implement strategies to optimize margins and control expenses.
• Operational & Floor Leadership: Maintain a strong, visible presence on the floor during peak service hours, ensuring guest delight and seamless operations. Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, hospitality, and product knowledge. Support team morale through coaching, recognition, and consistent leadership visibility.
• Brand & Local Integration: Act as the brand ambassador in Cape Town, cultivating relationships with local clientele, influencers, and community partners. Represent the venue at local events and hospitality forums to strengthen its reputation and visibility. Ensure the restaurant’s identity resonates with the city’s lifestyle and dining culture.

Restaurant GM – Candidate Profile

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of General Manager experience leading high-volume, premium dining restaurants or successful new openings.
• Track Record: Proven ability to manage full P&L, optimize operational margins, and lead large, diverse teams.
• Leadership Style: Charismatic, hands-on leader who leads from the floor—not behind a desk.
• Attributes: Sharp attention to detail, strong local market awareness, and resilience under opening pressure.
