Placements24 seeks a skilled Geologist specializing in Resource Estimation to join the Welkom team. You will handle large geological datasets, build and validate models, and support mine planning with quantitative resource assessments.

The role emphasizes geostatistical analysis, data integrity, and clear reporting to inform decisions and drive project value in South Africa's mining district.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology or Earth Sciences required.
• MSc or equivalent specialization in Resource Geology highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geological exploration or mining with focus on resource estimation.

Responsibilities

• Compile, validate, and interpret geological and assay data from drilling programs.
• Develop and apply geological models to estimate resource quantities and grades.
• Perform geostatistical analysis, including variography and block modeling, to support resource classification.
• Collaborate with mine planning engineers to ensure practical and economically viable models.
• Prepare technical reports detailing resource estimates, methodologies, and confidence levels.
• Stay updated on advancements in resource estimation techniques and modeling software.
