Placements24 in Upington is seeking a Resource Geologist to join our team under a hybrid work model. You will estimate and report mineral resources, build 3D models from drill data, and help integrate results into mine planning.

Applicants should have a Master's in Geology and 3–5 years of experience, plus proficiency with Leapfrog Geo, Vulcan, Datamine, or GEMS, and familiarity with JORC/NI 43-101.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology or related quantitative field.
• 3–5 years of experience in geological resource estimation and modeling.
• Proficiency with Leapfrog Geo, Vulcan, Datamine, and GEMS.
• Strong grasp of geostatistics and statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with JORC and NI 43-101 reporting codes.
• Excellent analytical and collaborative skills for a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain 3D geological models based on drillhole data, geological mapping, and other relevant information.
• Perform resource estimations using appropriate statistical and geostatistical methods (e.g., Ordinary Kriging, Inverse Distance Weighting).
• Classify mineral resources according to industry standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).
• Prepare detailed resource reports, including geological interpretations, estimation methodologies, and QA/QC results.
• Collaborate with mine planning engineers, metallurgists, and geophysicists to integrate resource estimates into mine plans and feasibility studies.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses and uncertainty assessments for resource estimates.
