Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Architectural Drafter in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, for a role focused on producing precise construction documentation for high-end residential estates and bespoke homes. You will convert concepts into detailed drawings, collaborate with architects and designers, and ensure plans meet codes and buildability standards.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of residential drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and a strong portfolio.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Certificate in Architectural Technology or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years of experience as an Architectural Drafter, with a focus on residential projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong understanding of residential building construction, materials, and methods.
• A portfolio showcasing residential drafting work is highly recommended.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
• Excellent technical drawing skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Western Cape building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and details for residential estates and custom homes using CAD and BIM software.
• Assist architects and designers in developing design concepts and producing presentation materials.
• Ensure all drawings and documentation are accurate, complete, and comply with building codes and standards.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants to ensure seamless integration of disciplines.
• Conduct site visits to gather information and verify conditions.
• Update and maintain drawing registers and project documentation.
• Assist in preparing tender documentation and construction administration support.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs from contractors.
• Stay updated on building codes, construction techniques, and software advancements.
