Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer in Bloemfontein, for a hybrid role focused on design, development, and optimization of solar, wind and hybrid energy projects. You will conduct feasibility studies, grid connection assessments, and detailed electrical design.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in renewables, strong power systems knowledge, and experience with grid codes and inverter/BESS technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with renewable energy systems.
- Strong knowledge of power systems analysis and grid integration.
- Experience with grid connection studies and protective coordination.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for solar, wind, and hybrid projects.
- Perform load flow, short circuit, and stability studies with software.
- Develop equipment specs for inverters, transformers, switchgear, cabling.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new projects.
- Ensure compliance with grid codes and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful execution.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
- Analyze performance data and propose improvements.
