About the Role

This hybrid role is integral to the design, development, and optimization of solar, wind, and other renewable energy projects. You will be involved in everything from feasibility studies and grid connection assessments to the detailed design of electrical systems, including power conversion, protection, and control. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, power systems, and grid integration challenges. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on renewable energy systems (solar, wind).
• Strong knowledge of power systems analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination.
• Proficiency in power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, HOMER).
• Experience with grid connection studies and understanding of grid codes.
• Familiarity with inverter technology, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and SCADA systems for renewables.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of relevant international and South African standards (e.g., IEC, SANS).
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is advantageous.
