Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Remote Civil Engineer with expertise in Water Resource Management to join our geographically diverse team, based remotely from Upington, Northern Cape. This role focuses on developing sustainable strategies and designing resilient water infrastructure for supply, flood control, and environmental protection.

You will conduct hydrological modeling, water systems planning, and design related infrastructure, collaborating virtually with project teams,

Qualifications

Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydrology.
Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA.
Minimum 8 years' experience in water resource engineering and management.

Responsibilities

Conduct hydrological studies and develop water resource management plans.
Design and engineer water infrastructure, including dams, reservoirs, pipelines, and flood control systems.
Perform hydraulic modeling to optimize water resource allocation and system efficiency.
Assess environmental impacts and develop mitigation strategies for water-related projects.
Collaborate remotely with project managers, environmental scientists, and government bodies on policy and implementation.
Ensure designs comply with environmental legislation and water quality standards.
