Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Remote Volunteer Coordinator for a fast-growing environmental nonprofit. You will recruit, train, manage, and retain volunteers essential to our mission, coordinating entirely online from anywhere in South Africa.

The role requires exceptional communication, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, customer-focused mindset to engage a geographically dispersed volunteer base and support program staff. Remote work flexibility is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in volunteer management or coordination, remote preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for diverse volunteers.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with virtual collaboration tools (Zoom/Slack/Workspace).
• Experience with database management is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement recruitment strategies for volunteers across South Africa.
• Screening and onboarding of new volunteers.
• Design and deliver engaging virtual training for volunteers.
• Manage volunteer schedules, assignments, and communications online.
• Serve as primary contact for volunteers and provide ongoing support.
• Foster a positive volunteer experience and recognition programs.
• Maintain volunteer records and track hours and impact.
• Collaborate with staff to match volunteers to opportunities.
• Contribute to volunteer recognition events and marketing materials.
