Placements24, on behalf of a leading environmental NGO, invites applications for a Project Manager role focused on conservation initiatives across South Africa. The position is remote, coordinating field teams, partners and community stakeholders to deliver projects from inception through closure.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of project management experience in environmental settings, strong communication skills, and proficiency with tools like Asana, Trello, or MS Project.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in project management, with environmental focus.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects remotely.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders (community groups, government, researchers).
• Solid understanding of environmental conservation in KwaZulu-Natal region.
• Proficiency with project management software and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage multiple environmental conservation projects from initiation to closure.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Coordinate and communicate with remote teams, local partners, and stakeholders to ensure objectives are met.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
• Ensure all activities comply with environmental regulations and organizational standards.
• Prepare comprehensive project reports documenting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
