Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Remote Transport Planner & Route Optimizer to join our logistics client. This fully remote role focuses on designing efficient transport routes across a wide network, including Randburg, Gauteng, ZA, using advanced software to improve delivery performance and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transport planning and route optimization.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills for data interpretation.
• Proactive in identifying logistical challenges and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Utilize route optimization software to plan daily deliveries for a large fleet.
• Analyze transportation data (traffic, delivery times, fuel costs, capacity) to identify optimal routes.
• Develop strategies to minimize mileage, fuel use, and delivery times.
• Collaborate with dispatch teams to adjust route plans based on real-time conditions.
• Prepare reports on route efficiency, cost savings, and performance metrics.
• Identify risks and develop contingency plans for proposed routes.
• Stay updated on advancements in route optimization tech and logistics software.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and delivery commitments.
• Provide insights for continuous improvement in transportation planning and execution.
• Communicate decisions and impacts to internal stakeholders.
