Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Virtual Child Psychologist and Behavioral Specialist to provide telehealth assessments and therapy for children and adolescents nationwide in South Africa. You will develop tailored behavioral plans, collaborate with families, and stay current with best practices in telehealth.

The role requires a Master's/Doctoral degree in psychology, HPCSA registration (or eligible), and at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in child/adolescent psychology.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical/Psychology with child specialization.
• Registered with HPCSA as Psychologist (or eligible).
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in child/adolescent psychology.
• Experience conducting telehealth sessions and using virtual assessment tools.
• Expertise in diagnosing and treating common childhood mental health disorders.
• Excellent English proficiency in written and spoken form.
• Proficiency with secure telehealth software and EHR systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload.
• Strong ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
• Reliable high-speed internet and private workspace.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments of children/adolescents via telehealth.
• Diagnose and treat conditions like anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral disorders.
• Develop and implement evidence-based interventions and plans.
• Provide ongoing counseling to children, adolescents and families.
• Collaborate with parents, educators and other professionals for holistic care.
• Educate families on development, behavior management and coping strategies.
• Maintain confidential electronic health records per ethical standards.
• Stay updated with research and telehealth best practices.
• Participate in case conferences and team meetings.
• Contribute to online resources and educational materials.
