Placements24 is seeking a motivated Remote Telecoms Support Specialist to join a virtual support team. The role is fully remote, allowing you to assist customers from a home office and be the first contact for telecoms issues.

You will diagnose connectivity problems, guide users through troubleshooting steps, and document interactions in the CRM. Strong communication and self-management are essential for success in this distributed role across South Africa.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or an associate's degree in IT/telecoms is a plus.
• Proven experience in a customer support or technical help desk role, preferably within the telecoms or IT industry.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Familiarity with common telecommunications technologies and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Proficiency in using ticketing systems and remote support tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to customers via phone, email, and chat regarding telecoms products and services.
• Diagnose and resolve common issues related to internet connectivity, voice services, and mobile devices.
• Guide customers through self-service troubleshooting steps and technical configurations.
• Escalate complex technical problems to senior support teams or relevant departments when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and technical issues in the CRM system.
• Contribute to the knowledge base by creating and updating support articles and FAQs.
