Placements24 is seeking a Remote Telecoms Network Planning Engineer to join the strategic network development team. You will develop long-term capacity plans and lead expansion projects while analyzing performance data to optimize the network.

This fully remote role supports operations nationwide from South Africa, with emphasis on scalable, future-ready solutions and collaboration across virtual teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in telecom network planning, design, or engineering.
• Strong understanding of network architectures, capacity planning & forecasting.
• Experience with modeling tools and simulation software.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term network capacity plans based on traffic forecasts, service growth, and technology evolution.
• Design and engineer network expansion projects, including equipment selection, configuration planning, and implementation strategies.
• Analyze network performance data to identify areas for optimization and recommend upgrades or new deployments.
• Evaluate and pilot new technologies and solutions to enhance network capabilities and meet future business requirements.
• Collaborate with network operations, engineering, and business units to ensure alignment of planning activities with overall objectives.
• Prepare technical proposals, reports, and cost estimations for network development initiatives.
