Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Telecom Network Operations Specialist to support our client's remote network infrastructure in the Port Elizabeth region. You will monitor performance, respond to alerts, and help maintain network availability and security in a fully remote setting.

You should have 2–4 years of telecom/network operations experience, a IT-related degree, and hands-on familiarity with SolarWinds or Nagios and ticketing systems.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in network operations or technical support.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios) and ticketing systems.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Monitor telecom network performance and availability using established tools.
• Respond to network alerts, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Perform routine health checks, preventative maintenance, and updates.
• Document incidents and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve complex network problems.
