Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Tax Consultant for a remote position serving clients across South Africa. The role focuses on tax law, compliance, planning, and dispute resolution, leveraging deep knowledge of corporate tax, VAT, and individual taxation.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in tax advisory, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with tax software and MS Office. Work is fully remote with local country coverage and collaborative virtual teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, or Finance with a specialization in Taxation.
• Postgraduate qualification in Taxation (e.g., HDip Tax, M.Com Tax) essential.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in tax advisory or consulting.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert tax advice to individuals and corporate clients on a wide range of tax matters.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize returns for clients.
• Ensure compliance with Income Tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes.
• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, trusts, and companies.
• Represent clients with SARS, including audits and disputes.
• Conduct tax research and stay up-to-date with tax law changes.
• Deliver presentations and training on tax topics to clients and internal teams.
• Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide integrated financial solutions.
