Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Remote Supply Chain Optimization Specialist to join a leading global logistics provider. You will analyze complex data, identify bottlenecks, and design data-driven strategies to optimize inventory, forecasting, and warehouse management from anywhere in South Africa.

You will collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance, developing KPIs and modeling demand to improve efficiency, cost, and customer satisfaction across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain analysis, optimization, or a similar role.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing successful supply chain strategies.
• Proficiency in supply chain software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA).

Responsibilities

• Analyze current supply chain operations to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction.
• Develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize inventory levels, forecasting accuracy, and warehouse management.
• Evaluate and improve transportation routes, carrier performance, and freight costs.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure optimal sourcing and supplier performance.
• Design and implement performance metrics (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.
• Utilize advanced analytics and modeling tools to forecast demand and plan resource allocation.
• Create detailed reports and presentations on supply chain performance and improvement recommendations for senior management.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in supply chain management and logistics technology.
• Facilitate virtual workshops and training sessions to communicate new strategies and processes.
