Placements24 client, a rapidly expanding manufacturing firm specializing in advanced materials, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Remote Purchasing Officer to join their fully remote procurement team. The role focuses on strategic sourcing of raw materials, negotiating with suppliers, and managing the procure-to-pay cycle to support production goals.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in purchasing within manufacturing, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and experience with ERP systems

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in purchasing or procurement in manufacturing/industrial settings
• Proven ability to source materials, negotiate with suppliers, and manage purchase orders
• Strong understanding of material markets and supply chain principles
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and MS Office
• Strong negotiation and communication skills for remote interactions with suppliers
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fully remote setting
• Familiarity with inventory management principles is a plus

Responsibilities

• Source and procure a wide range of materials and equipment per quality and delivery requirements
• Identify and onboard new suppliers meeting quality, cost and reliability standards
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules for best value
• Manage procure-to-pay cycle: create/manage purchase orders, track deliveries, process invoices
• Collaborate with production and engineering to understand material needs
• Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify risks and opportunities
• Maintain records of procurement activities, supplier information, pricing agreements
• Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, KPIs
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and ethical standards
