Placements24 seeks a remote Sports Data Scientist to turn complex sports data into insights that drive athlete development, team strategy and injury prevention. You will work with global teams, building predictive models and scalable data pipelines using Python or R.

The ideal candidate has an advanced degree and a strong track record in ML, statistics, and data mining, with experience in big data tools and visualizing results for non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Data Science, CS, Statistics or related quantitative field.
• Significant professional Data Scientist experience with sports analytics or similar domain.
• Proficiency in statistical modeling, ML algorithms, and data mining techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy predictive models for athlete performance, injury risk, and game outcomes.
• Analyze large datasets from player tracking, biomechanical sensors, and game statistics.
• Design data pipelines for ETL processes and scalable data handling.
