Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Sports Data Analyst to join our innovative team in a fully remote capacity. You will develop advanced models, process large sports datasets, and deliver actionable insights to coaches, management, and athletes.
The ideal candidate holds a Masters/PhD in a quantitative field, 5+ years in analytics (sports analytics preferred), and strong Python/R, SQL, and data-visualization skills to drive performance improvements.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative field (stats, data science, CS, math).
- 5+ years of data analytics, with sports analytics focus.
- Proficiency in Python or R and data manipulation libraries.
- Strong SQL/database management knowledge.
- Experience with Tableau or Power BI and dashboard design.
- Excellent communication to present to non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine advanced models to track performance and outcomes.
- Collect and process large volumes of sports data from diverse sources.
- Translate findings into clear insights for coaches, management, athletes.
- Design dashboards and reports to visualize KPIs and trends.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to apply data insights to training.
- Mentor junior analysts and help grow the analytics function.
