Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Special Education Teacher to join its virtual learning team in South Africa. You will develop and implement IEPs and deliver high-quality instruction to students with diverse needs using online platforms.

The role is fully remote nationwide within South Africa, requiring collaboration with parents, teachers, and support staff via video conferencing tools. A teaching credential in Special Education and LMS experience are essential; prior virtual teaching

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Master's preferred.
• Valid teaching certification and credentials in Special Education.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching students with special needs, preferably virtual/online.
• Proficiency with LMS, online tools, and video conferencing (Zoom, Google Meet).
• Strong knowledge of SPED law and best practices in virtual instruction.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills; able to work independently remotely.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver specialized instruction for students via virtual learning.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for assigned students.
• Utilize online tools and adaptive technologies to create accessible learning experiences.
• Conduct virtual assessments to monitor progress and identify needs.
• Collaborate with parents, general education teachers, and support staff remotely.
• Maintain accurate student records per district policies.
• Provide ongoing feedback to students and families on performance and behavior.
• Participate in virtual professional development and team meetings.
• Adapt teaching strategies for a range of disabilities.
