Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Skincare Formulation Chemist to lead research, development and formulation of cutting-edge cosmetics from a home office. You will innovate, test, and optimize serums, creams and cleansers, ensuring safety and efficacy across global markets.

The role requires a strong scientific background in cosmetic science, 6+ years in skincare formulation, and the ability to collaborate remotely with marketing, regulatory, and product teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in cosmetic formulation, focusing on skincare.
• Deep knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, their functions, safety profiles, and interactions.
• Proven experience developing serums, creams, lotions, cleansers, masks.
• Familiarity with analytical techniques for product characterization and quality control.
• Strong understanding of global cosmetic regulations (FDA, EU, ASEAN).
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Proficiency in data analysis and documentation software.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, capable of working independently remotely.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify novel ingredients and technologies for skincare formulations.
• Develop new skincare formulations from concept to commercialization, ensuring stability and safety.
• Conduct bench work, prototype creation, ingredient testing, and formula optimization.
• Analyze competitor products and market trends for opportunities.
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to understand briefs and market needs.
• Ensure formulations comply with global cosmetic regulations with regulatory teams.
• Scale up lab formulations to pilot and production batches.
• Troubleshoot formulation issues and provide technical support during development and manufacturing.
• Document all formulation work and experimental data.
• Present findings to internal stakeholders.
• Maintain safety, quality, and sustainability standards in formulation.
