Placements24 is seeking an exceptional Remote Lead Skincare Formulation Scientist to drive innovation in skincare product development. You will lead a global team of formulation chemists, manage research projects, and contribute to a robust pipeline of breakthrough skincare products.

The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. or Master's in Chemistry or Cosmetic Science with 8+ years in skincare formulation and a proven ability to mentor scientific teams.

Qualifications

• PhD or Masters in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in skincare formulation development with strong innovation.
• Proven experience leading and managing a team of scientists.
• In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, functions, interactions, and safety profiles.
• Expertise in emulsions, gels, serums, creams and manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of skin biology, dermatology, and product efficacy testing.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D, development, and formulation of skincare products from concept to benchtop and pilot scale.
• Mentor and manage a team of formulation scientists, providing technical guidance and direction.
• Design studies to investigate new ingredients, technologies and delivery systems.
• Conduct stability testing, compatibility studies, and efficacy assessments.
• Collaborate with R&D, marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing for launches.
• Stay updated on scientific advancements, market trends and competitive landscape.
• Troubleshoot formulation challenges and optimize existing products.
• Ensure compliance with standards, quality requirements, and global regulations.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for stakeholders.
• Contribute to IP portfolio through invention disclosures and patents.
