Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Skincare Product Developer & Formulation Chemist to lead R&D of advanced skincare formulations from concept to commercialization. You will work with cross-functional teams to create effective, safe products in a remote-first environment for the Beauty & Wellness market.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in skincare formulation, a higher degree in chemistry or cosmetic science, and a strong track record in stability testing and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field.
• Minimum of 7 years in skincare product development and formulation chemistry within cosmetics/Beauty & Wellness.
• Expertise in formulating a wide range of skincare products and understanding active ingredients and mechanisms.
• Proven ability to conduct comprehensive stability and efficacy testing.
• Excellent understanding of global cosmetic regulations (FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation).
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote team setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the R&D of new skincare formulations focusing on efficacy, safety and consumer appeal.
• Formulate and optimize skincare products (creams, serums, cleansers, masks) per regulations and standards.
• Conduct stability, compatibility and efficacy testing of materials and finished products.
• Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and manufacturing to ensure timely launches and troubleshoot formulation challenges.
• Stay updated on cosmetic chemistry trends, active ingredients, and sustainable practices.
• Mentor junior chemists and technicians, promoting scientific excellence.
• Evaluate new raw materials and technologies for product applications.
• Prepare technical documentation including formulation reports, specifications and manufacturing instructions.
