Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS/Info Security; advanced certs preferred.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned and visionary Remote Senior Security Architect to design and implement state-of-the-art security solutions for their organization. This role is critical in defining the future of our security infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable, resilient, and capable of defending against sophisticated threats. As a fully remote position, you will have the autonomy to work from anywhere while collaborating closely with engineering, IT, and business teams across South Africa to embed security into the core of our technology strategy. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive security architecture blueprints for on-premises and cloud environments.
• Define security standards, best practices, and guidelines for the organization.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to address emerging threats.
• Lead the implementation of complex security projects, ensuring architectural integrity and compliance.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into the DevOps lifecycle (DevSecOps).
• Provide expert guidance and mentorship on security architecture principles and practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; advanced security certifications (e.g., CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA) are highly preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on security architecture and design.
• Deep understanding of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices security.
• Expertise in threat modeling, risk assessment, and secure coding practices.
• Proven experience in designing secure networks, applications, and data protection strategies.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills for remote engagement.
