Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Engineer to join a fully remote team, operating from the Cape Town tech hub, with location not restricting. You will design, implement and manage advanced security solutions to protect data and systems.

You will identify risks, respond to threats, and ensure compliance with industry standards while embedding security into the SDLC and collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or related field.
• Proven experience as Information Security Engineer or similar.
• Strong cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP) and container security.
• Scripting in Python or PowerShell for automation.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving in remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
• Develop and automate security processes and tools.
• Conduct security reviews with development teams to embed security into SDLC.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
• Respond to incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and implement corrective actions.

• Contribute to the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.

Requirements
