Placements24 is seeking a Senior Risk Manager for a remote-first role within a leading insurance firm in South Africa. You will develop and implement robust risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, strategic, and compliance risks from a remote location.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in risk management, strong regulatory knowledge (Solvency II, Basel), and proven leadership. FRM/PRM/CRM certifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in finance, economics, business, or related field (SA equivalent).
• 7+ years of progressive risk management experience in financial services/insurance preferred.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, controls, and mitigation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive risk management frameworks.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across the organization.
• Lead risk mitigation plans and monitor control effectiveness.
• Provide risk reporting to senior management and the board.
• Mentor and lead a team of risk professionals.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with Solvency II, Basel, and related standards.
