Placements24 seeks a Senior Real Estate Portfolio Manager to lead a diverse asset portfolio in a remote-first environment. You will drive investment strategy, optimize performance, and oversee risk across multiple regions, with a strong focus on KwaZulu-Natal trends and opportunities.

You will guide financial planning, mentor team members, and collaborate with investors, brokers, and legal counsel to maximize returns while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Master's degree or CFA/CCIM is a significant advantage.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in real estate investment or asset management.
• Proven track record of managing and growing a diverse real estate portfolio.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and valuation skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in market analysis software and MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Deep understanding of the SA real estate market, incl. KwaZulu-Natal trends.
• Proactive, strategic mindset with problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic plans for acquisition, management, and disposition of real estate assets.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in Pietermaritzburg and beyond.
• Oversee portfolio financial performance: budgeting, forecasting, reporting KPIs.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with investors, tenants, brokers, and counsel.
• Negotiate lease and purchase agreements and other contracts.
• Monitor performance, identify improvements, and implement value-adds.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and mentor junior real estate team members remotely.
