Placements24 seeks a Senior Project Engineer for a fully remote role to lead major civil infrastructure initiatives. You will guide planning, design oversight, and execution, coordinating across distributed teams while ensuring compliance with national standards.

You will apply your 12+ years of civil engineering experience, PrEng registration, and proficiency in MS Project/Primavera P6 to deliver complex projects remotely across regions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PMP certification or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 12+ years progressive civil engineering experience, with at least 7 years in senior project engineering/PM on large-scale infrastructure.
• PrEng registration with ECSA mandatory.
• Experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, water, earthworks).
• Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams in a remote setting.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency with MS Project and Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of major civil infra projects, from concept to construction, remotely.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to project teams.
• Develop project plans: scope, risk, resources, scheduling, budget.
• Review and approve design documents and construction plans.
• Manage stakeholders including clients and authorities.
• Perform risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Monitor progress, metrics, and financial status; take corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with SANS, environmental regs, and safety.
• Facilitate virtual meetings across distributed teams.
• Keep up with tech trends to improve project delivery.
