Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Procurement Officer to lead procurement strategy and supplier negotiations in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations from the Sandton region and beyond.

The role requires 8+ years in procurement or supply chain, with proven senior-level contract management, strong leadership for remote teams, and expertise in ERP and data analytics software. A relevant degree and CIPS are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management with a track record in strategic sourcing and negotiation.
• Experience managing complex contracts and supplier performance at a senior level.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage remote teams.
• Proficiency in advanced procurement software, ERP systems and data analytics tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; CIPS or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies to achieve value and efficiency across categories.
• Lead complex negotiations with major suppliers, securing advantageous terms.
• Manage a portfolio of key supplier relationships, ensuring performance and compliance.
• Oversee the procurement lifecycle from needs assessment to contract finalization and administration.
• Provide mentorship to junior procurement staff remotely.
• Analyze market trends, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies for the supply chain.
