Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Research Scientist to join a fully remote team within South Africa. You will lead design and execution of in vitro and in vivo experiments to advance drug candidates, interpret complex data, and contribute to strategy and regulatory documentation.

The role requires a Ph.D. with 5–7 years of post‑doctoral or industry experience and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life science discipline.
• 5–7 years of post‑doctoral or industry experience in pharmaceutical research and drug discovery.
• Proficiency with data analysis and relevant techniques (cell-based assays, protein biochemistry, small animal models).
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate drug candidates.
• Analyze data, draw conclusions, and present findings to stakeholders.
• Contribute to research strategy and project planning for innovation.
• Maintain notebooks and prepare reports, manuscripts, and regulatory documents.
• Collaborate with chemists, pharmacologists, and toxicologists to optimize leads.
