Placements24 in South Africa is recruiting a Senior Pharmaceutical Biologics Scientist to join an advanced research team in a fully remote capacity. You will design and execute experiments in protein engineering, cell line development, and bioprocess development for biologics such as therapeutic antibodies.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and execute experiments for discovery and development of novel biologic drug candidates.
• Develop and characterize therapeutic proteins, antibodies, or other biologics using molecular and cellular biology techniques.
• Optimize cell lines for protein expression and production.
• Develop and scale-up bioprocesses for manufacturing biologic drug substances.
• Perform analytical characterization of biologics, including purity, potency, and stability assessments.
• Troubleshoot experimental challenges and develop innovative solutions.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings to internal teams.
• Contribute to preparation of scientific reports, manuscripts, and regulatory documentation.
• Stay current with advancements in biologics research, protein engineering, and bioprocessing technologies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to advance project goals.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to a collaborative research environment.
