Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a fully remote role supporting our client’s global telecommunications infrastructure. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable networks, ensuring security and performance across diverse environments.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of enterprise networking experience with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and hands-on Cisco/Juniper/Palo Alto hardware, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills for remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on enterprise network design and management.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and other core networking protocols.
• Hands-on experience with network security technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC).
• Proficiency in configuring and managing hardware from major vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto).
• Experience with cloud networking concepts (AWS VPC, Azure VNet).
• Strong understanding of network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, self-directed environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy robust and scalable network infrastructure solutions.
• Manage and maintain enterprise-level network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Ensure the security and integrity of the network by implementing and monitoring security protocols and measures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, minimizing downtime and impact on services.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to improve performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure changes.
• Monitor network performance and capacity, implementing upgrades and optimizations as needed.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
