Placements24 is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for a globally recognized leader in advanced manufacturing. This fully remote role within South Africa focuses on optimizing processes, deploying new technologies, and driving efficiency and quality across multiple facilities.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering degree and 5–7 years of experience in process optimization, CAD/CAM, and automation, with strong analytical and collaborative skills to operate

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with emphasis on process optimization and product realization.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and understanding of manufacturing automation technologies.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work with complex technical data.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a distributed team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects remotely and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and refine manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Design and specify new manufacturing equipment and tooling in collaboration with R&D and procurement.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions for manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with quality assurance, product development, and operations to ensure seamless production.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering roles, with a strong focus on process optimization and product realization. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and a solid understanding of manufacturing automation technologies. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex technical data. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively in a distributed team. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a Remote setting. Experience in the specified sector within the Cape Town region is an advantage but not required due to the remote nature of the role.
