Placements24 seeks a Senior Legal Counsel specializing in Compliance and Governance for a fully remote role. You will design, implement, and monitor global compliance programs while advising on regulatory changes and governance matters across time zones.

Key tasks include anti-bribery and data privacy program oversight, training, risk assessments, and internal investigations. Ideal candidates have 7+ years post-qualification experience and strong independent work capability in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court with 7+ post-qualification years in compliance/governance.
• Proven experience implementing multinational compliance programs.
• Knowledge of anti-bribery, anti-corruption, data protection (POPIA) and governance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and investigative abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain global compliance policies and procedures.
• Oversee anti-bribery, anti-corruption, data privacy, and other programs.
• Conduct risk assessments and internal investigations on compliance matters.
• Provide expert legal advice and training on compliance issues.
• Monitor laws/regulations and advise on adjustments to compliance strategies.
• Support Board and executive management on governance matters.
• Manage regulatory filings and interactions with authorities.
• Develop and deliver training on compliance and ethics.
• Ensure operations meet highest standards of integrity.
