Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a distinguished Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our remote team, contributing to coastal development projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will analyze soil conditions, design foundations, and advise on ground stability for marine and land-based structures.
You will collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, and site investigation teams virtually, using PLAXIS and GeoStudio, and you will prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years in geotechnical engineering with coastal/marine focus.
- Pr. Eng registration with ECSA or equivalent.
- Experience managing remote geotechnical investigations and design.
Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced analysis of soil mechanics and foundation design for coastal infrastructure.
- Interpret data from site investigations, including boreholes, CPTs, and lab tests.
- Develop geotechnical reports with ground improvement, slope stability, and seismic design recommendations.
- Collaborate with remote structural engineers to integrate geotechnical designs into projects.
- Provide expert consultation on geotechnical risks and mitigation for coastal developments.
- Oversee remote geotechnical technicians and data analysts.
