Placements24 is seeking a Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer for a fully remote role with a leader in advanced aerospace systems. You will develop and validate flight dynamics models, design flight control laws, and run simulations for aircraft and spacecraft from your home office.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s or PhD in aerospace or mechanical engineering, 8+ years in flight dynamics, and expertise in MATLAB/Simulink, GNC, and trajectory optimization.

• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation.
• Strong understanding of rigid body dynamics, aerodynamics, and orbital mechanics.
• Experience with GNC algorithms and remote collaboration.

• Stay current with state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies in flight dynamics and control.

Requirements

• A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in flight dynamics and control.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in flight dynamics engineering, including extensive experience with flight control system design and analysis.
• Proficiency in mathematical modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong understanding of rigid body dynamics, aerodynamics, and orbital mechanics.
• Experience with guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) algorithms.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and computational skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration and documentation.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage complex projects in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards and certification processes is a plus.
• Must be a South African citizen or have permanent residency/valid work permit.
