Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist specializing in Energy Analytics to join a fully remote team. You will leverage large energy datasets, build ML models, and drive analytics for energy transition initiatives.

The role emphasizes production ML, collaboration with engineers and product teams, and communicating complex findings to stakeholders. Remote-first environment with asynchronous communication and global collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist with ML focus.
• Proven experience building and deploying production-level ML models.
• Proficiency in Python or R and libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Experience with Spark or Hadoop and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, experimental design, and data mining.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Interest or experience in the energy sector is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and deploy ML models for energy forecasting, demand prediction, and grid optimization.
• Clean, process, and analyze large energy datasets from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with software engineers, PMs, and domain experts to integrate data solutions.
• Design and conduct A/B tests and experiments to evaluate model performance.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders via visuals and reports.
• Stay at the forefront of data science in energy applications.
• Contribute to data infrastructure and best practices for analytics.
• Mentor junior data scientists and foster a data-driven community.
