Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Corrosion Engineer for a fully remote role in the oil and gas sector. You will develop corrosion control strategies across infrastructure, assess risks, specify materials, coatings, CP systems, and monitor programs.

With 8+ years in corrosion engineering and knowledge of NACE/AMPP standards, you will guide design and field teams, ensuring asset integrity and minimizing failures while staying compliant with industry regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or materials field.
8+ years of corrosion engineering experience in oil and gas.
Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, electrochemistry, and metallurgy.
Experience with coatings, cathodic protection, and inhibitors.
Familiarity with NACE/AMPP standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Professional certifications such as NACE Corrosion Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement corrosion prevention and control strategies for oil and gas facilities and pipelines.
Conduct corrosion risk and integrity assessments of metallic structures and equipment.
Specify materials of construction, coatings, linings, and cathodic protection systems.
Perform corrosion failure analyses to determine root causes.
Develop and manage corrosion monitoring programs using ILI tools and coupons.
Review and approve technical designs for corrosion control.
Ensure compliance with NACE, ISO, and API standards.
Provide guidance to engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
Stay updated on new corrosion technologies and methodologies.
Develop and deliver training on corrosion principles.
