Placements24 seeks a Senior Materials Engineer to join its client’s technical team in Polokwane. You will guide material selection, integrity, and performance for oil & gas projects, ensuring reliability and safety of infrastructure and equipment.

You will evaluate materials, develop specifications, investigate failures, and advise on corrosion prevention, working with design, operations, and maintenance teams to protect asset integrity throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Materials Engineering, Oil & Gas preferred.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, corrosion science and non-metallic materials.

Aufgaben

• Advise on material selection and performance in Oil & Gas environments.
• Develop and review material specifications and testing procedures.
• Investigate material failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop corrosion control strategies for pipelines and equipment.
• Oversee material testing and QA to industry standards.
• Collaborate with design, engineering and maintenance teams.
