Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with coastal/maritime expertise to lead design and management of marine infrastructure on a fully remote basis. The role may involve projects in the East London area and along the Eastern Cape coastline.

You will apply hydraulic modeling, coastal processes knowledge, and international standards, coordinating remote teams and site clients while driving high-impact coastal resilience initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with coastal or maritime specialization.
• Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA is essential.
• 10+ years of experience in coastal infrastructure design and management.
• Proficiency in coastal modeling tools and remote project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual and detailed design of coastal protection structures and marine facilities.
• Perform wave, current, sediment transport analyses and hydraulic modeling.
• Prepare design reports, specifications and tender documents.
• Provide remote technical consultancy and project management support.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and local regulations.
• Oversee construction method reviews and quality assurance remotely.
